Can Bengals fans ever truly accept Joe Mixon?

Joe Mixon Will Prove His Worth

When the Bengals drafted the former Sooner, there was a collective groan from some fans. There were already enough negative headlines flying around. Adam Jones was in the process of becoming the NFL’s bad boy and then the Bengals do this. Huh?

When Mixon finally gets his chance to shine, it’ll amaze the skeptics. We all know the story about his troubled past. But, his bright future is what will make analysts notice. Joe has the talent the Bengals need to replace Giovani Bernard if his ACL doesn’t respond fast enough. The extensive research on Mixon wasn’t just to pass the time. Bengals’ brass knew he was a carbon copy of Bernard and would fit well in the offense.

Will he pass the 1,000-yard mark in his first year? The answer is a definitive yes. Bernard probably won’t get into the lineup until Week 3 or so (think Tyler Eifert). Ken Zampese will want his offense to hum. He’s probably on a short leash also. So expect Mixon to get a ton of touches early.
