They’re Prayin’ On His Downfall

More from Bengals News

Actually, nothing could be farther from the truth. When fans talk about Jeremy Hill, it isn’t always the doom and gloom that comes to mind. Hill is still a capable running back with tons of skills. So, what happened? There were a number of things that hindered Hill’s return to greatness after 2014.

Bengals faithful see the stats. But, injuries and the offensive scheme have kept Hill at bay for two years. Yes, it’s about overcoming those obstacles and being the best at your craft. Yet, I know some injuries are more unbearable than others. There’s also the risk of doing more damage than good, by trying to play through pain.

Fans are truly waiting for a return of the LSU product that shredded defenses for 1.124 yards. Honestly, if Hill stays healthy last year, he reaches the 1,000-yard mark. The big letdown was yards per carry.

Still, Mr. Hill has to step it up for the new year. The Bengals will have him under the crosshairs. This is the final year of his rookie contract. He’ll be expected to prove he’s worth the contract upgrade. That may sound nasty, but the NFL is a business. It always has been. This year, Hill has to get down to business and show what he’s truly capable of doing. Joe Mixon wasn’t drafted to sell beer and hot dogs in the cheap seats.
