Cincinnati Bengals: Top training camp battles to watch

William Jackson III vs Darqueze Dennard
It’s finally time for Bengals fans to see what William Jackson III can do. WJ3 was injured in training camp in his rookie season which forced him to miss the year. On the other hand, we have Darqueze Dennard. Dennard has been injured most of his short career for the Bengals. He was drafted in the first round and was arguably the best corner out of college.
Dennard was expected to eventually take the No.1 or No. 2 corner spot for the Bengals, but that hasn’t happened yet. Then came injuries which have derailed his career for the past couple of years. Dennard is expected to fight for the second or third corner spot with Jackson III in the upcoming training camp.
Dennard played some games last year but he didn’t look like the player the Bengals had drafted. Hopefully, he heals up and can start making bigger contributions to the D. Jackson III had a torn pectoral in his first training camp which forced him to miss the entire season.
WJ3 was known as a ball-hawking, athletic, speedy corner. He made great plays on balls and is arguably the fastest corner on the team with a 4.33 40-yard dash time. If he proves that he’s capable of covering NFL receivers in training camp and preseason, he could start over Pacman Jones, Dennard and Shaw.
