The Cincinnati Bengals OTA’s and minicamps dates have been posted as the teams look to get ready for the 2018 season.
The NFL has announced the offseason dates for all 32 teams and the Cincinnati Bengals will begin their workouts on April 16th. During this time the players will be allowed to work with strength and conditioning coaches and players coming back from injury can do their rehabilitation with the team. Nothing else is allowed to the team and this period will last for about two weeks.
The Bengals will begin their organized team activities (OTA’s), which are three-day events, starting May 22nd. They will have two sessions of these and then a four-day OTA stretch from June 4-7. Here the team will run on the field drills without contact. Offense and defense cannot play against one another as well. This part of the program will last three weeks.
Starting June 12-14, the team will hold the next stage of minicamps where the team is allowed 10 days of OTA’s without contact but offense and defense can play against each other. Seven on seven, nine on seven, and eleven on eleven drills are all allowed. This period lasts four weeks. During this period the team can hold mandatory veteran minicamps for ten days.
Once the last stage of minicamps is over the team will take a small break before going into training camp to get ready for the season. Then the team will be allowed contact in practice and everyone is mandatory. The team can also host a rookie developmental camp for seven weeks starting on May 14th this year.
