Iowa center James Daniels
As one of the top centers in this year’s draft class, Iowa James Daniels would be a great addition to the Bengals line. After losing Russell Bodine to the Buffalo Bills via free agency, Cincinnati has a big hole in the middle of their line. Granted, even with Bodine there was a sizeable hole in the middle of the interior.
Cincinnati brought in Daniels for a top 30 visit showing their interest in filling the big hole left by Bodine this offseason. Many analysts have Daniels as the top center in this draft class with the highest ceiling. His athleticism and ability to get to the second level and swing outside for the run game would bring much-needed help to running back Joe Mixon in the run game.
Cincinnati will have to fill the hole at center in the first couple rounds as it’s the biggest need on the offensive line after acquiring Glenn at left tackle. The team has also met with Arkansas center Frank Ragnow who could possibly be there in the second round along with Billy Price out of Ohio State. If McGlinchey is off the board at 21, it would not surprise me if the Bengals went with Daniels.
