The Cincinnati Bengals held their rookie minicamp this past weekend from May 11-13. Players were able to talk to the media following practices and one of those players that addressed the press was the third-round pick, Sam Hubbard. Growing up a Bengals fan made this an even better experience for Hubbard as he starts his NFL career.

During his time at Ohio State, Hubbard stated in a locker room interview that he felt he was very prepared coming into camp. He said that Ohio State does a great job running their program and prepping players for the NFL. Whether that be on the field schemes and techniques to off the field and interviews and note taking, Hubbard said he felt very prepared coming into camp.

After all the wait and extensive draft process these past months, players like Hubbard are finally getting a chance to put on NFL jerseys and get out onto the practice fields with their new coaches and teammates. These rookies have worked their entire lives to get to this point and the fact that Hubbard gets to do it for the team he grew up cheering for makes the moment even more special.

Entering camps can often be overwhelming for rookies as they learn about the NFL schemes and how they will fit into new roles. Hubbard was an exception according to this interview as he mentioned the Bengals run similar schemes to his college days at Ohio State. He talked about his confidence and excitement as camp and how he was ready to get right back to work. Cincinnati fans should be excited about the potential of Hubbard in the Bengals need defense.
