EA Sports put out a quick video of some of the Madden 19 team ratings and the Cincinnati Bengals three top players were pretty obvious.

The Cincinnati Bengals have left mandatory minicamp and wait till July 26 to begin training camp. With the NFL season just around the corner, so is the release of this year’s Madden game. EA Sports has released a video showing the ratings of each team and their top three players. The video states that the scores are not final, but they are a quick look at what fans should expect of their teams.

The three players that were rated the highest for the Bengals were wide receiver A.J. Green (93), defensive tackle Geno Atkins (90), and tight end Tyler Eifert (89). I have to agree with many people I’ve talked to about Eifert being a top three player. While he is an elite talent, he’s never on the field due to health issues, and I think that there are a couple of players that could have been in that spot. Guys like Vontaze Burfict, Carlos Dunlap, or William Jackson III. Although, given Jackson’s breakout season being last season, I don’t expect EA Sports to have an elite rating on him yet.

Cincinnati overall ranked as the 10th worst team in the new ratings with an overall of 76. This came to no surprise to me as there are so many untapped potential players that Bengals fans believe in, but EA is not going to rate high until they show something. Guys like John Ross or Billy Price have not played enough to earn a good grade yet.

Green and Atkins entirely belong to the top two players on the team. Both are hitting the age of thirty and still playing in their prime. I do think that their ratings could have been a bit higher considering that Aaron Donald got a 99 overall and Ndamukong Suh got a 94. Given back to back losing seasons and the number of holes and unknowns in the Bengals roster right now, I wasn’t too surprised about where the team ranked. What do you think of the ratings?
