Layne is somebody who has a chance to move up draft boards due to his size. He possesses tremendous size and length for the cornerback position. Due to concerns about speed, he is more likely to be drafted for a zone scheme and might make the transition to safety. Layne is nonetheless a playmaker and was for Michigan State this past season, acting as their number one corner. Layne would provide the Bengals another tool in their secondary, wherever it is decided he will play in the pros.
