Priority #3 – Wide Receiver Depth

Who Dey notes: Bengals' John Ross done, playoffs or bust

This may be somewhat of a hot take, but I believe wide receiver depth is a concern for the Bengals right now. Yes, they have two of the more talented receivers in the league in AJ Green and Tyler Boyd, but who else has really been a factor? Former first round pick John Ross was brought in to try to fix this issue, but he has failed to produce in both of his seasons with the team. Behind him, there’s only below average talent. My hope is that Zac Taylor and his staff can re-vitalize this offense and find a way to turn Ross into a major contributor, but I think they still need to add a weapon or two. It’s clear that when AJ Green and Tyler Eifert are off the field, Andy Dalton and the offense struggle mightily and I think adding another explosive player could make this offense dangerous under Taylor’s modern offensive philosophies. It’s important that the front office tries to find a 3rd WR in free agency, or potentially take a shot on a hidden talent in the mid-rounds of the draft.
