Jones sometimes lacks the necessary velocity needed to complete tight window throws. Many of his best deep balls are a result of the defense getting beat by receivers, and not Jones throwing his receivers open. Jones at times seems to look a tad gangly, struggling to reset his feet if forced to run too much, making him miss opportunities to reset. Jones has struggled with completion percentage, not even surpassing 60 percent for his career as a Blue Devil. In order to succeed, route trees will have to design receivers to get open and rely on Jones’ touch, rather than having to force him to throw towards the sidelines 15 yards deep.
