The Bengals added plenty of talent in the draft, but could their top rookie in 2019 be an undrafted free agent signing?

The first NFL Draft in the Zac Taylor era is in the books.  The Bengals added 10 players. Five of the picks are offensive players while the other five play on the defensive side of the ball.

Cincinnati filled several holes by adding two linebackers, bringing in two offensive linemen including Jonah Williams in the first round, and added their potential future starting quarterback in Ryan Finley.

Here’s a look at the entire draft class.

There are plenty of talented players the Bengals brought in that fans should be excited about. but one of their reported undrafted free agent signings may just end up being the top rookie from this year’s class. His name is Stanley Morgan Jr., a wide receiver from the University of Nebraska.

Morgan played in four seasons at Nebraska competing in the Big Ten Conference. There, he racked in 2,747 career receiving yards, caught 189 passes and hauled in 22 touchdowns.

In his final season at Nebraska, Morgan saved his best for last. He broke his own program record for single-season receiving yards with 1,004. Also, he posted 70 catches ranking second best in single season program history and caught seven touchdown passes.

His career at Nebraska, a program that has won five national championships was so impressive that he shattered both the schools receiving yardage and reception records.

Morgan’s college efforts had him projected to be selected between rounds four and seven of the draft, but he did not get the call from the pro’s until after things in Nashville ended.

Now a Bengal, Morgan has a chance to compete to make a roster that is very wide receiver top heavy.

A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd are the unquestioned starters, but Morgan will have a chance to compete with Alex Erickson, John Ross and Josh Malone to not only make the team. but to see snaps at the number three receiver spot.

He may have gone undrafted, but Bengals fans should not doubt the talents of Morgan Jr. and should be excited to have him in the Jungle. You can see him in action below thanks to the Elite Sports YouTube channel.
