Sunday in Miami was ugly, like all kinds of ugly. The Baltimore Ravens destroyed the Miami Dolphins 59-10 in a game that showed the Dolphins are already in the market for the top overall draft pick. It also was a superb performance by Lamar Jackson who showed last season was no fluke.

Or was it? No one knows. What fans do know is Miami will be an easy walkover as they make their way to the basement of the NFL in hopes of landing the top overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. A pick that a few preseason experts thought the Cincinnati Bengals might contend for.

When looking at the AFC North after Week 1, it’s tough to say if the Ravens are the top team in the division. Jackson looks to have had a great day, but given how Miami looks to have gutted their franchise, who wouldn’t look great against the Dolphins?

Before all is said and done, the North will have proven to be tough for any of the four teams to get through. While only Baltimore found their way to the playoffs last season, the division is likely to produce a couple of playoff-worthy teams.

Having said all that, it’s hard to find fault with excitement for what the Ravens may be in 2019. Jackson may prove to be the “real deal” when everyone was all in on Cleveland.

We still may not know much about Baltimore after Week 2 as they host the 0-0-1 Arizona Cardinals in their home opener. But as of now, the Ravens look to be the class of a division where uncertainty reigns supreme.
