Everything tells me that if the Cincinnati Bengals are going to win a game either this week or next, that the game they finally break through and get that win is in Week 7 against the Jaguars. But will they? Will they find a way to run the football consistently? Will they get a needed stop on defense? Will someone step up to make a big play?

Jacksonville isn’t a measuring stick kind of game, which is to say a win doesn’t erase six weeks of losing. A win also doesn’t mean it’s a run to the playoffs or out of the NFL cellar. A win may simply mean the Bengals were due.

All that said, the Jags are the opponent in Week 7. If they manage to win at Paul Brown Stadium, you can begin to make a substantial argument that the Bengals are a team who may only win one or two games this season. Perhaps they even go 0-16.

A victory will put to rest a lot of the angst fans have been feeling but it won’t erase the fact that the Cincinnati Bengals are a bad team in need of a serious re-evaluation and rebuild. Taylor also needs a game where something he draws up leads to a win.

If they are to get a first win on the 2019 season, it happens Sunday against the Jaguars.
