Tennessee is an interesting team. At 4-5, the Titans are a team who looks like they may be a quarterback away from being better than who they have been, perhaps even a lot better.

Like the Cincinnati Bengals, the Titans made a change at quarterback when they moved Marcus Mariota to the bench in favor of Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill, who used to be the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, may not be a long-term consideration for the job. With Mike Vrabel under increasing pressure to deliver a winner, Tennessee might be ripe for a change that brings someone like Andy Dalton to Music City.

Without question, Dalton is a big step up from the current quarterback roster for the Titans. Mariota is likely closer to bust than a success story and has journeyman backup written all over him. Tannehill, meanwhile, looks to be only slightly better than Mariota, which in the grand scheme of things doesn’t seem all that great.

Of interest is the AFC South. The Titans are in last place at 4-5, while the division-leading Houston Texans sit at 6-3. With Jacksonville and Indianapolis rounding out a fairly pedestrian group, a quarterback like Dalton would probably vault them closer to the top of the division, giving the fans the hope that Mariota could never deliver.
