The Denver Broncos still play football. You might have forgotten after another down season at 3-6 and in last place in the AFC West. A division that seems pretty average after the Chiefs. This season, John Elway is again faced with a quarterback dilemma he has yet to solve after Peyton Manning retired following their last Super Bowl win.

Bottom line, it’s been a while in the Mile High City, and if Elway is smart, he looks to a player like Andy Dalton who is light years better than Joe Flacco was three years ago.

Dalton seems like a player absolutely in Elway’s wheelhouse. He’s a proven veteran. He has won, and he has some mileage left on the tires. While a veteran like Flacco has been underwhelming, a better veteran like Dalton could reignite the dormant Broncos.

Quarterback has been a problem in Denver. The list of tried and failed isn’t so much illustrious as it is disappointing. Names like Brock Osweiler, Paxton Lynch, Trevor Siemian, and now Flacco have not won many games. It’s not predicted that Brandon Allen will either. That said, a player like Dalton might buy the Broncos some time in a division that with the right quarterback, they can compete in.
