NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently dubbed this years wide receiver class the most talented he has ever seen, a sentiment echoed by many others. While wide receiver is nowhere near the top of the list of needs the Bengals have, the value in round four is too great to pass up.
Due to the overflow of talent at the position, it is possible Justin Jefferson out of LSU could be available at this pick, In other years, he is probably taken in round two or three. The Bengals should jump at the chance of reuniting Burrow and Jefferson at the highest level.
He has smooth route running ability and incredible potential making contested catches deep down the field. He has already surpassed 1,000 yards receiving on the year with 11 touchdowns.
The Bengals have plenty of solid receivers on their roster, but A.J. Green may not be there next here. Jefferson may offer a different skill set than the others at the position. Consider the injury concerns at the position as well and Jefferson makes that much more sense.
Again, Joe Burrow surely wouldn’t mind sharing the stripes with him either. they have already built solid chemistry.
