This year’s wide receiver class has the potential to go down as one of the greatest ever. While the Bengals don’t have a pressing need at the receiver position, it would be a shame to let this class come and go without selecting one. Due to the overflow of talent, Denzel Mims may still be on the board come round 7. The Bengals should run to the podium.

Like Stokes from the previous round, Mims is a former track star, winning the Texas 200 meter state championship during his high school days. What’s most impressive is that he seems to have kept his speed despite getting up to 215 pounds.

Standing at 6’3″ and sporting an impressive catch radius, he has all the tools to become a great receiver. If the Bengals were to put Mims, A.J. Green, John Ross, and Joe Mixon all on the field at once, they would field one of the fastest lineups in the league.

His speed and size give him potential to be a good special teams player for Cincinnati too. All around, Mims checks the boxes for what front offices want in the later rounds.
