It’s no secret the Bengals are in desperate need of help at the linebacker position. However, they may have more pressing needs to address in the opening rounds. If the team decides to address quarterback and offensive line early, Charles Snowden out of Virginia is a later round prospect they could target.

The Maryland native may be the most unique linebacker in the entire class. He has unusual height for the position, standing at 6’7″. With that kind of length, he could come in and help the Bengals cover tight ends and bigger receivers. To show Snowden’s capability in pass coverage, he led all linebackers in passes defensed during the 2018 season.

He has plenty of experience as well, getting playing time in 10 games as a true freshman and starting every contest the following two seasons.

Many scouts peg him as a guy that’s underdeveloped, which is why he’s projected to be taken in the later rounds. Still, he has all the physical attributes needed to turn into a good player with the right coaching. For a Bengals team that is clearly trying to get younger and more athletic at the position, Snowden offers both.
