The Cincinnati Bengals would be smart to draft a quarterback with their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and then get a top-line receiver. Here are three that could be game-changers as soon as next season.

It seems all but decided that the Cincinnati Bengals will select a quarterback with their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. If they don’t, the franchise should immediately be relegated to the Big-10 where they can at least compete-but I digress. The Bengals have holes, a lot of them, and after an unimpressive season of production from the wide receiver position, not to mention a significant level of uncertainty, pass-catchers should be high on the list come draft weekend.

If the Bengals do select Joe Burrow, who he throws to could be interesting in 2020 and beyond. Uncertainty with A.J. Green and John Ross as an injury waiting to happen, the Cincinnati brain-trust should look at what is a talent-rich and very deep class of receivers.

More simply put, Cincinnati needs to take a long and hard look at a pass-catcher who can be impactful out of the gate. The Bengals would be smart to make an offensive lineman a top priority in free agency, and a quarterback/receiver combo a top priority in the NFL Draft.

The Bengals need to reinvent themselves across the board. In a league that is quarterback centric where the rules favor the offensive, focusing on these two positions only helps move the needle in Cincinnati.
