Tyler Johnson from the University of Minnesota is a player who has played himself into early-round considerations. The Gophers, who have had a huge season in the Big 10, will play the Auburn Tigers in the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day.

Johnson is something of a unicorn in that he came back for his senior season at Minnesota. While not a referendum on Johnson as a player, it strikes a chord for those who like character types of players, versus those who can bring a lot of baggage from their college careers. Johnson returning for another year of Gopher football, says a lot.

"“I just thought it would mean a lot to my siblings and people in my community. Not a lot of people where I’m from get a college degree,” Johnson told Saturday Tradition at B1G Media Days. “I just took all that in and made it a priority.”"

As for what Johnson has done on the field, it speaks for itself. He was named to the All-Big Ten first team with 11 touchdowns and 1,114 receiving yards.

Johnson sports a nice frame for a wide receiver. He stands at 6’-2” and weighs in at 200 lbs. his projected 40-time is 4.54 and is certain to get a lot of looks early.
