When the 3-11 Dolphins square off with the 1-13 Bengals, it is anyone’s guess what the final outcome will be. Neither has impressed, both are in desperate need of a rebuild, and for Cincinnati, it’s another week closer to a potential date with destiny in the form of Joe Burrow.

It’s hard to know whether the home-field advantage even means something with these two teams. To say the Dolphins are or are not a definitive favorite at home is guesswork. Home or away, both organizations have been the definition of awful.

However, this game has some potential because, despite the records, both the Dolphins and Bengals have talent at the quarterback position, at least relatively speaking. Both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andy Dalton have had flashes in 2019, and both are capable of making some big plays.

For Cincinnati fans, winning is losing. Already, many have opined on social media that Ryan Finley should play, all but assuring another loss. With Burrow clearly on the minds of fans, the idea of a win that could jeopardize draft position is almost unthinkable.

Next. The Bengals need to move on from A.J. Green. dark

All that said, Miami has been better by two more wins than the Bengals. It’s hard to say if that’s saying a lot or maybe just enough. But if home-field in the NFL means anything, then a Dolphins win in Week 16 seems very logical. Albeit very close. Look for more points scored than you think, and a tied game late.
