Thanks to the large number of high-caliber offensive tackles in this years class, Josh Jones from Houston falls to the Bengals in the third round in this scenario. The Bengals would be getting a tremendous piece along the offensive line and their new starter at right tackle with the selection. At 6’7″, 310 pounds, he matches his size with great athleticism that makes him a great pick-up.

Pro Football Focus certainly thinks highly of him, as you can see from their graphic above. His overall consistency is a breath of fresh air in an age where most offensive linemen gravitate towards honing just their pass sets or being a mauler in the run game when first coming out of college.

Pairing Josh Jones with Jonah Williams gives the Bengals two athletic bookends that can protect their next franchise quarterback and grow alongside him.

Regardless of who the new signal caller is, his success will heavily rely on how the Bengals go about fixing the offensive line this off-season. That makes this selection extremely important and one the Bengals can’t miss on. Thankfully, the Bengals will get a close look at Jones when they travel to Mobile to coach the Senior Bowl.
