Pairing Ohio State’s Davon Hamilton alongside superstar Geno Atkins should get Bengals fans very excited.
Hamilton is big enough to be an anchor in stopping the run while also agile enough to rush the passer on third downs. In his senior year, he proved that to be especially true, earning 6 sacks from his interior position.
Clemson never could get a traditional run game established with Etienne. Watch DaVon Hamilton blow up the pullers on this play and create a mess in the backfield. Similar to what OSU did in the second half of B10 title game against Wisconsin to slow down Taylor. pic.twitter.com/hbgCDGcyte

In the clip above via @BillLandis25, Hamilton shows his ability to wreak havoc in the backfield. That should be welcome news for a Bengals defense that was one of the worst at stopping the run in 2019. His ability to penetrate the line of scrimmage helps the linebackers out tremendously as well because the linemen are unable to work to the second level.
Appearing in 40 games throughout his collegiate career, Hamilton has the experience to make an impact right away. In passing situations, a defensive front of Dunlap, Atkins, Hamilton, and Lawson would cause headaches for opposing offenses.
