As the idea of Andy Dalton moving to a new team continues to grow, we look at potential trade scenarios between the Cincinnati Bengals and a potential landing spot, the Indianapolis Colts.

With each passing day, the likelihood of Andy Dalton donning a new uniform continues to grow. Potential landing spots to be heavily mentioned so far include the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots. However, as of recently, the idea that the Red Rifle could call Lucas Oil Stadium and the city of Indianapolis home has begun to gain traction.

The Cincinnati Bengals obviously have plenty of reasoning to complete such a transaction. With the presumptuous first overall pick, Joe Burrow, set to take the reigns in the Queen City, moving Dalton paves the way for him to do so. In addition, they gain over $17 million in cap space, although they may absorb some of that money to sweeten the deal for the opposing team.

From the Colts perspective, they have a huge void to fill after the sudden and unexpected retirement of Andrew Luck. His replacement, Jacoby Brissett, doesn’t appear to be the answer long term either. General manager Chris Ballard wields a talented roster that could make some noise in the postseason. If they miss out on free-agent quarterbacks like Tom Brady or Phillip Rivers, their next phone call could have a 513 area code. Placing Dalton behind an extremely strong offensive line, along with other key pieces scattered throughout, could be enough to become dangerous in the AFC.
