Original Pick- Jake Elliot, Kicker, Memphis

The Bengals had struggled to find consistency in the kicking game for quite some time so they attempted to address the issue by selecting Jake Elliot.

They cut ties with the Memphis kicker prematurely, sticking with veteran Randy Bullock instead. Elliot has gone on to play for the Eagles, where he’s made some important kicks for the team.

Regardless, if the front office had the pick back, they’d undoubtedly go for linebacker Jayon Brown instead. Brown has been great in coverage for the Titans and made an impact rushing the passer as well. With linebacker being the biggest weakness on the roster, the Bengals certainly could’ve used the former Bruins services.

player. 2119. . Safety. Bulldogs . Xavier Woods. 8

Original Pick- J.J. Dielman, Center, Utah

Considering J.J. Dielman is no longer in the league, it’s safe to say the Bengals wish they went a different direction with this pick.

Xavier Woods, reigning from Louisianna Tech, was still on the board at this point and would have been a great pick up. As a starter for the Cowboys, Woods has been solid. Although he wouldn’t beat out Jessie Bates and may not overthrow Shawn Williams to crack the starting lineup, he’d be great in nickel packages.
