It is curious to see how Joe Burrow matches up with the last five quarterbacks drafted first overall. From Andrew Luck to Kyler Murray, it is an impressive list.

It didn’t take long for the comparisons to begin between Joe Burrow and any number of top quarterbacks in the National Football League. As recently as the Combine, the LSU standout was mentioned in the same breath as Tom Brady.

To Burrow’s credit, he was quick to ask not to be compared to perhaos the best quarterback in the game. However, some comparisons worth considering are the last five quarterbacks who were selected first overall.

The list is solid with some impressive names. Players like former Indinalapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston. Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff. And lastly, the last two who were not only the top picks in consecutive drafts, but Heisman Trophy winners, Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray.

These names are the last five quarterbacks dating back to 2012 to be called first on draft night. Odds are high Burrow will be next.
