With free agency a week away, here are three targets the Cincinnati Bengals could opt for when the period opens on March 18.

The Cincinnati Bengals continue to give indications that they will buck historical trends and be aggressive in free agency. With plenty of holes to fill on the roster, this should be welcome news, as every weakness can’t be addressed through the draft alone.

If the Bengals can shore up the offensive line and linebacker rooms in March, it will give them much more freedom come April. Rather than drafting for need or desperation, the team will have the ability to select the best player available, which is vital for a franchise to establish long term success.

Expect the front office to have a very specific game plan. Bengals.com Senior Writer, Geoff Hobson, had this to say in his latest mailbag,

"“I think the Bengals are readying to duel (in free agency). Too many lights on too late in the night at PBS for me to think otherwise.”"

If the Bengals do indeed swing for the fences, the competition to acquire some of the big names will be fierce. If they’re willing to open up their spending, they’ll undoubtedly attempt to sign players like Cory Littleton, Joe Schobert, or Joe Thuney. However, for the sake of this article, we’ll focus on targets that aren’t being talked about as much but can still make a significant impact.
