While much of the sports world has been shut down by the coronavirus outbreaks, the NFL Draft will go on as scheduled and all eyes are on the Bengals and the first overall pick.
The Cincinnati Bengals had a disappointing season in 2019, to say the least. After parting ways with longtime head coach Marvin Lewis, the team had a new coach at the helm in Zac Taylor and enthusiasm was higher than it had been in years.
That enthusiasm did not last long, however. The Bengals won only two games throughout the entire season, giving them the worst record in the NFL. The only good to come out of the season was that their league-worst record gave the front office arguably the most valuable asset in the sports world: the first pick in the NFL Draft.
Thanks to the disappointment of a 2-14 season and the excitement of holding the first overall pick, the Bengals have changed their approach to the offseason completely. A team that was once notorious for being conservative in free agency has now become one of the biggest spenders. The Bengals have added players like Vonn Bell, D.J. Reader, Trae Waynes, and more.
The Bengals final test of the 2020 offseason is the NFL Draft. Will they get it right and make this potentially the best offseason in team history? Who will they take with their seven picks? That’s the question we are trying to answer with this mock draft, so let’s get started.
