Here, we take a look at three bold predictions for the new-look Cincinnati Bengals’ defense heading into the 2020 season.

It’s no secret that the Cincinnati Bengals’ defense had a forgettable season in 2019 after ranking as one of the worst units in the league. When all was said and done, the team wielded the 24th ranked defense in the NFL, finishing dead last in stopping the run.

Thankfully, the front office put in the work to turn the tide for defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. The turnover started in early March with the addition of D.J. Reader and Trae Waynes. Duke Tobin continued to make smart moves from there on out, landing players such as Vonn Bell, Mackensie Alexander, and Josh Bynes.

In addition, the organization finally addressed their linebacker room. Fans haven’t seen an above-average player at the position since Vontaze Burfict and even then, he was often injured or suspended. Now, the orange and black faithful should be in for quite the 180, as the team boasts several young and exciting prospects in Logan Wilson, Akeem Davis-Gaither, and Markus Bailey.
