Many were surprised to see former Wyoming linebacker Logan Wilson make it to round three. Zac Taylor even said in a press conference after the selection that the staff was “holding their breath” in hopes that he would fall to pick 65. When looking at the profile of the uber-productive 23-year-old, it’s easy to see why.

Wilson was all over the field across his four collegiate seasons. In all, he racked up 421 tackles, 10 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, and 24 defended passes.

That stat line along with his skillset leads to the bold prediction that he will lead the team in tackles in 2020. Of course, he shouldn’t be expected to pull off such a feat. Just don’t be surprised if it ends up happening.

Circling back to his skillset, he possesses the attributes that will allow him to stay on the field all three downs. With the extra time in between the lines in combination with his ability to drop into coverage, it will surely add up to more tackles for the rookie.

The previously mentioned defensive line is looking like it will be a ferocious unit, which will help free Wilson up to make plays as well. It could just come down to whether or not he gets the live preseason reps he needs to acclimate him to the speed of the NFL.
