Bengals AFC North bold predictions: Three major award winners

As previously mentioned, the AFC North took home the most widely publicized award in the NFL in 2019, league MVP. The 2020 campaign looks to net even more hardware for each of the four respective teams.

Lamar Jackson will have as good of a chance as any to earn the most valuable player title again.

Joe Burrow is a strong favorite to win offensive rookie of the year.

Akeem Davis-Gaither is surprisingly listed with the ninth-best odds (via Action Network) to win defensive rookie of the year, despite being drafted in the fourth round.

Don’t overlook the Bengals’ third-round pick, Logan Wilson, for that award either. The uber-productive linebacker has the skillset to stay on the field all three downs and make his presence known.

Where things really get interesting is the title for comeback player of the year. The division has two very strong candidates for the award in A.J. Green and Ben Roethlisberger.

Although Roethlisberger is getting up there in age, the success he has accomplished in his career thus far is undeniable. With a defense that is very good at generating turnovers, he’ll get extra opportunities to rack up stats and put points on the scoreboard.

Green, on the other hand, has fallen off the astronomical track he was set on to begin his career. After 7-straight Pro Bowls, the past two years of his tenure have been injury-ridden. He was once considered to undeniably be in the top-5 at his position, now his name is often overlooked. With Burrow now throwing to him and a full year of recovery, his chances of reclaiming his throne are as good as any.

When all is said and done, the AFC North will come away with plenty of accolades.
