Optimistic Bengals predictions: Joe Mixon gets the respect he deserves

One of the brightest spots of the offense over the last two years has been Joe Mixon. Gaining over 1,100 yards in two straight years gives him a case to rank as one of the top backs in the league. As opposing defenses will be forced to afford more attention to the passing attack and Joe Burrow’s capabilities, now is the perfect time for Mixon to take yet another step in his career.

The former Oklahoma Sooner star has a chance to escape being the focal point of the offense, and instead become part of a devastating one-two punch with the Bengals’ new man under center. This will keep defenses on their heels, allowing Mixon to find more holes for big gains. Additional stats will help him finally be recognized by those outside the Queen City as one of the top players at his position.

2020 is the year that Mixon is selected to the Pro Bowl. After two strong years of production, his hard work should be recognized by the national media, resulting in the honor. Putting together a full, healthy season will be important, but everything is lining up to finally send Mixon to the Pro Bowl in his fourth year in the league.
