Bengals that can fill the void left by Trae Waynes: LeShaun Sims

What was once an under-the-radar signing for Cincinnati now becomes one of the most important transactions of the offseason. The front office wisely (and quietly) secured LeShaun Sims on a one year, $1.7M contract back in March.

The former Titan corner has been in the league four years, bringing with him 56 games of experience, 11 of which are starts. Those snaps prior to joining the orange and black will be invaluable in replacing Waynes while he’s sidelined.

While Sims is a relatively unknown name, it would be foolish to doubt him. Just ask Jadeveon Clowney, who made that mistake during a game against the 26-year-old corner.

As seen in the clip below, Clowney began trash-talking Sims, stating he had never heard of him before. Sims responded by securing an interception on the next play against one of the best receivers in the league, Deandre Hopkins.

Sims made his name known to Clowney and he’ll certainly have the chance to earn recognition from those that reside in the Queen City as well as he battles others in camp to earn the snaps left by Waynes.
