AFC North Power Rankings #3- Mark Ingram, Baltimore Ravens

If this was a power ranking on rushing attacks in the NFL, the Ravens would be a no brainer for the top spot. A running back of Mark Ingram’s ability combined with the special skills of Lamar Jackson has created a rushing attack that is among the best ever seen. Baltimore had 3,296 rushing yards as a team, which was almost 1,000 yards more than the next closest club.

Mark Ingram is a big part of this success, as he was able to move the ball with ease last year. On over 200 carries, Ingram maintained an impressive 5.0 yards per carry, which is one reason Jackson was able to run wild over other teams.

The reason Ingram is not at the top of this list is because of the talent around him. Mixon and the top-rated running back both had more pressure on their shoulders and were expected to be a primary driving force to victory. When you are playing with the NFL MVP, you do not have to take on that weight.

Ingram has the longest track record of success in his career out of any AFC North running back. A key battle moving forward involves newcomer J.K. Dobbins. Dobbins was drafted by the Ravens and put up big numbers at Ohio State. Ingram may see his number decline this year due to splitting more carries with the rookie, further contributing to his place in these rankings.
