AFC North Power Rankings #1- Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns

Nick Chubb leads the way in this power ranking of AFC North running backs. While the top three backs can all make a claim as being the best in the division, Chubb was absolutely dominant a year ago and doesn’t show signs of slowing.

The Pro Bowl selectee put up 1,494 rushing yards last season for the Cleveland Browns. This was on a team where Baker Mayfield struggled and the offense often found itself sputtering and struggling to find traction.

Chubb had almost 300 carries on the year, which will be a concern for his long term durability. However, he will only be entering his third season, meaning he should still be able to put up big numbers. The most impressive part of his stat line is being able to keep up an average of 5 yards with every rush across his hundreds of touches.

If Cleveland can improve their passing game, the former Georgia Bulldog may see even bigger holes as defenses are forced to respect the talented wide receivers. While this might also lower the usage rate of the back, Chubb should still be one of the top players at his position in the NFL this season. For a team that is hoping to snap a playoff drought, Chubb is an important member of bringing success to Cleveland.
