These head coach candidates could be on the shortlist if the Cincinnati Bengals opt to move on from Zac Taylor at some point.

For some, an 0-2-1 start to Zac Taylor’s second-year as the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals is enough to begin considering looking for his replacement. For others, the obstacles and situations presented warrants more time being granted to his coaching staff.

No matter which side of the fence you fall on, there’s no denying that things haven’t gone according to plan so far. The most notorious evidence pointing to that fact is the state of the offensive line, but other situations factor into the lackluster beginning of the 2020 campaign as well.

Although it’s been a rough start to the season, things don’t appear to be getting easier anytime soon. As things stand, the schedule looks to get much more difficult after week four, casting doubt that the club can surpass their win total from a year ago. Two contests against the Ravens and Steelers each, as well as matchups against the Cowboys and Titans, leaves little room for error.

Even games against the Giants, Washington Football Team, and Dolphins look like they’ll be hard-fought battles at this point. If the club fails to improve from what we saw a year ago, fans can rest assured that Bengals decision-makers will at least consider finding a new coach to lead the franchise.

Taylor and his coaching staff certainly have their work cut out for them if they’re going get Joe Burrow through this season healthy and keep the rest of the roster bought in. If they fail to do so, Cincinnati could consider replacing him with one of these coaches.
