Potential Bengals Head Coach Replacements: Brian Daboll

Brian Daboll is quickly rising up the ranks of future head coach candidates as the year wears on. He’s got what once looked like a major project playing like a solidified superstar in Josh Allen. Not to mention, the Bills are rolling with a 3-0 record.

With time spent learning from Bill Belichick and Nick Saban, he has a background that only adds to his intrigue.

While the current season is the reason Daboll is becoming a hot name, it’s what he accomplished in 2019 that’s particularly impressive. He was able to get enough production out of a team with less than ideal offensive talent to earn a playoff apperance. John Brown was their leading receiver, rookie Devin Singletary was their lead back, and pre-breakout Allen was under center.

If Daboll can squeeze out 10 wins with an offensive unit like that, what could he do with a cast that consists of Joe Burrow, Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon, Tee Higgins, and others?

Through three games, Daboll’s offense is averaging 31 points. If he can keep that kind of production up and the Bengals continue to go downhill, he could find himself in the orange and black.
