John Ross landing spots: Philadelphia Eagles
Somehow, the 1-4-1 Philadelphia Eagles are just a half-game back from first place in their division. They have an abysmal NFC East consisting of the Cowboys, Washington Football Team, and Giants to thank for that.
They’ve suffered from an unbelievable string of injuries. Miles Sanders, Zach Ertz, Alshon Jeffrey, Deshaun Jackson, and Jalen Reagor could all be out next week. Even if they do return, some of those guys have earned the dreadful “injury-prone” tag and could miss more time moving forward.
John Ross could help Doug Peterson weather the storm until he gets all his guys back healthy. Inserting the speedster into the lineup will allow them to provide a struggling Carson Wentz with a viable receiver and ensure nobody is rushed back from injury too quickly.
The idea of pairing Jackson with Ross is intriguing too. The duo has similar playing styles and Jackson could serve as a mentor for Ross.
Best-case scenario, Ross provides enough offense to keep things going until the other weapons return, the team finds their footing and sneaks into the playoffs, where anything can happen. Worst-case, the Eagles lose a late-round draft pick in an attempt to compete.
