The Cincinnati Bengals should already be planning to target these five free agents this offseason to fill holes on their roster.

After an eventful free agency period a season ago, the 2020 campaign has proven the Cincinnati Bengals will need a similar influx of talent to continue closing the gap between themselves and the top of the AFC North. As things stand, Spotrac estimates the club will have roughly $42M to spend on the open market, good for the sixth-most in the league.

The front office has the ability to increase their spending power in a hurry as well. Moving on from the declining Geno Atkins could net them $9.6M extra to spend and releasing tackle Bobby Hart would save an additional $5.9M.

In other words, the franchise that calls Paul Brown Stadium home will have more than enough flexibility to re-sign their top tier free agents, as well as nab a few from top organizations around the league if they choose to do so.

Zac Taylor and co. are trending towards a top-three selection, so they’ll have plenty of draft capital available to improve their squad. However, in an ideal situation, they’ll address their biggest needs in free agency, freeing them up to select the best players available, regardless of position.

Rest assured, the front office is already creating plans for how they’ll attack this offseason. As they do so, these five players set to become free agents should be on their list to target.
