With offensive tackle Penei Sewell seemingly out of reach, here are five prospects the Cincinnati Bengals could now target instead.

Victory comes with consequences. For those fans of the Cincinnati Bengals who have become draft fanatics thanks to years of disappointing play, you’ll now have to watch the club slide down the draft board a bit as a result of winning.

With a week 16 win over the Houston Texans, Zac Taylor’s squad finds themselves fifth in the draft order, tied with the Philadelphia Eagles. At this point, that would seemingly put offensive tackle Penei Sewell out of reach for the franchise that’s in desperate need of help in the trenches.

Sewell has long been touted as a generational talent and as a result, has become a fan-favorite within the Queen City. Unfortunately, those who have dreamt of the Oregon prospect protecting Joe Burrow’s blindside for years to come will have to re-focus their imagination elsewhere.

Of course, things could always change. With an entire offseason separating the present from the draft in late April, rankings could undergo quite the shift. However, it looks unlikely, as Sewell has the kind of frame and athleticism that would only cause his draft stock to rise, not fall.

Thankfully, there are still plenty of quality options that the Cincinnati front office can pick between. There are a number of weaknesses that need to be addressed and the 2021 prospect pool offers strong options for each position. With a world of possibilities now open, let’s dive right in.
