Bengals’ draft prospects: Christian Darrisaw

Speaking of offensive tackle prospects flying up draft boards, Christian Darrisaw is another name generating plenty of buzz down the stretch of the season. The 6’5, 315-pound lineman is the other big candidate vying for the OT #2 designation behind Sewell. It’s easy to see why his name is in consideration for such a title.

Darrisaw went into the Virginia Tech program and found starting time as a true freshman, thanks, in part, to his impressive reach that allowed him to defuse veteran edge rushers right away. As you can imagine, he’s now got plenty of experience, competing in 33 games within the ACC throughout his collegiate career.

Outside of his frame and experience, he has the kind of athleticism that offensive line coaches dream of. He moves effortlessly and won’t be outmatched physically against top-tier defensive ends.

All in all, it’s difficult to find a box that Darrisaw doesn’t check. Even if he is lacking in some aspect, he has all the tools to correct it with the proper coaching at the next level.

Plug-in the former Hokie on one side and Jonah Williams on the other, and Joe Burrow will be protected by two young, talented bookends for the foreseeable future.
