OT. Ducks . Penei Sewell. 1. player. 820.

Offensive tackle Penei Sewell, as you’ll see in a thousand other mock drafts leading up to the event in late April, is the pick here for the Bengals. The only scenario where Cincinnati isn’t in need of a long-term franchise bookend involves the front office acquiring Taylor Moton in free agency, an outcome that doesn’t seem likely.

There have been some rumblings that many within the league view Rashawn Slater as the better prospect between the two, but Sewell is the clear owner of the higher ceiling. The Oregon product has a larger frame and is significantly younger. In fact, Sewell won’t turn 21 until October of his rookie campaign.

With this pick, the Bengals shouldn’t have to worry about Burrow experiencing excessive pressure off the edge for the foreseeable future. Sewell, as previously mentioned, is just 20-years-old and would be under team control for five years. Jonah Williams is still just 23-years-old himself and is guaranteed to be in the Queen City for the next three years if his fifth-year option is picked up by the team.

That’s a promising duo to pair with Burrow. Ideally, the trio will spend the entirety of their careers together in the orange and black.
