Best value picks for Bengals rivals – Pittsburgh Steelers: Kendrick Green

I loved the Pat Freiermuth selection in the second round, but most people had a second-round grade on the Penn State tight end so I don’t consider that to be a value pick. In the third round, however, Pittsburgh landed Kendrick Green out of Illinois and there’s a lot to like about this kid.

The big thing with Green is that he’s versatile and after the Steelers’ offensive line lost three of their starters from a season ago, they’re going to need all of the help they can get on the o-line. Green played both center and guard in college and the Steelers need a center this year, so he’s certainly an option to slot in there.

Other than the Steelers taking running back Najee Harris in the first round, they actually had a pretty solid draft. They needed to address their offensive line sooner than the third round (they took Harris and Freiermuth before they turned their attention to the o-line) but they got a Day 1 contributor in Kendrick Green.

Look for Green to jump in and start blocking for Big Ben immediately.
