Primetime Games on Cincinnati Bengals 2021 Schedule

No. 3: Los Angeles Chargers

The Bengals host the Chargers in the 2021 season and it’ll be a rematch of the season opener last year where Joe Burrow made this face after his team failed to tie the game late. Justin Herbert didn’t play in that game, as the Chargers were planning to roll with Tyrod Taylor in 2020 until a team doctor unintentionally injured Taylor, forcing Herbert to start and he never relinquished the starting job.

In 2021, this matchup between the Bengals and Chargers is highly compelling, as it’ll pit Burrow and Herbert against each other. Burrow went No. 1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft while Herbert went No. 6 overall to Los Angeles.

This game just screams Monday Night Football to me. It’ll pit two promising young quarterbacks against each other and these are two teams that hope to be on the rise in 2021. This game needs to be featured in primetime because Burrow vs Herbert has the potential to turn into an out-of-division quarterback rivalry.
