Cincinnati Bengals: Jimmie Robinson is an under the radar name to watch

The Cincinnati Bengals invited Bethune-Cookman speedster Jimmie Robinson to their rookie minicamp, which is being held on May 14. Robinson might not be a well-known name but Bengals fans should keep a close eye on him.

Bethune-Cookman isn’t a big-name school at all but Robinson impressed there. He had 39 receptions for 468 yards and four touchdowns for his alma mater in 2019 and wasn’t just used as a wide receiver. He also played running back and was a force on special teams, which is likely where the Bengals see him as a fit.

The biggest thing that stands out about Robinson is his speed. He ran a 4.28 40-yard dash and that kind of speed is dangerous in the NFL. The Bengals are looking to get faster on offense and Robinson is more evidence of that.

Jimmie Robinson is a name for Cincinnati Bengals fans to watch.

The other day I wrote an article about UDFA return specialist Riley Lees and how he could find himself as a prime kick returner for the Bengals if all goes according to plan. Robinson could be a challenger in that department and his speed speaks for itself.

The Bengals not only had an impressive draft but they’re continuing to find good names outside of the draft and Robinson is the latest example of that Bethune-Cookman isn’t exactly churning out top prospects but the Bengals did their research and made sure to get this guy on board for minicamp. If he impresses and continues to make a name for himself, the Bengals could have themselves a special player with Robinson.

A 4.28 40-yard dash is no joke and it’s clear that Robinson can flat out fly. Will Robinson be able to stick around on the Bengals’ roster and make an impact on special teams this year? If he does, he could be a sneaky fun player to watch in the 2021 season.
