Must-Win Games for Cincinnati Bengals in 2021 – No. 1: Jacksonville Jaguars
The Bengals have just one primetime game on tap for the 2021 season and it’s a Thursday night game against the Jaguars, who had just one win a season ago. This matchup was likely chosen because it’ll pit the last two No. 1 overall picks against each other and those two quarterbacks faced each other in the National Championship Game during the 2019 season (with Burrow’s LSU Tigers reigning victorious).
Trevor Lawrence makes the Jaguars more interesting but don’t get it twisted; the Jaguars only had one win last year and while they should get a few more W’s with Lawrence as their quarterback, the Bengals are the better team by far. Jacksonville has holes all over their team and are going to struggle. They also have a head coach who has never coached in the NFL before.
With this game being the only primetime game in Cincinnati, fans are going to show up and make their voices heard in the stands. The fan support along with the Bengals being a better all-around team makes this a game that Cincy has to win. There isn’t an excuse to drop this one to the Jaguars who are still trying to find their footing.
If the Bengals only win one game in 2021, it better come against the less-talented Jaguars.
