Bengals Must-Watch Quarterback Matchups

No. 1: Joe Burrow vs Trevor Lawrence

The only primetime game of the season for the Bengals is in Week 4 when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars. This game was probably picked for primetime because it’ll be Burrow — the No. 1 pick in 2020 — vs Trevor Lawrence — the No. 1 pick in 2021. That’s a story in and of itself but throw in that these two faced each other in the National Championship Game in the 2019 college football season and that’s yet another thrilling aspect.

Both the Bengals and Jaguars are hoping to move forward and now have their franchise quarterbacks in Burrow and Lawrence respectively. The rest of the NFL will get to see what the future of the NFL looks like when these two go head-to-head and while the game will have its fair share of sloppiness, who doesn’t want to see a rematch between Burrow and Lawrence?

This, without question, is the most interesting quarterback matchup for Joe Burrow and there’s a reason the NFL chose this game as the Bengals’ lone primetime battle. The spotlight might be more on Lawrence than Burrow but he has a chance to change that narrative in the game.
