Free Agents Bengals Should Sign – No. 1: K.J. Wright

Staying on the topic of linebackers — which is a position that the Bengals desperately could use help atK.J. Wright is still available to sign. He’s spent his entire career with the Seahawks and hasn’t slowed down at all despite turning 32 in July.

This past season, Wright had 86 tackles, 10 defended passes, three quarterback hits, two sacks, one forced fumble, and one interception. This is exactly the kind of production the Bengals could use on their defense, one that was a major weakness a season ago but would make a huge jump if Wright joined them.

The Bengals aren’t in a great spot at the linebacker position and need to sign someone prior to camp. Wright is arguably the best linebacker still available in free agency and he’s there for the taking.

Germaine Pratt and Logan Wilson are decent players, but adding Wright to the mix not only gives the Bengals a legitimate force at the position, but Wright could also teach those guys a thing or two and that’s good for the long haul. Signing Wright would show that the Bengals aren’t okay with just being mediocre on defense.
