Ranking Bengals Opponents by Difficulty

7. Los Angeles Chargers (Week 13)

While the back half of the Bengals’ schedule is pretty brutal, they do get three straight home games in late November/early December and one of those games is against the Chargers. Joe Burrow’s first NFL game came against the Chargers and we all remember how that one ended.

What fans might not remember, however, is that the Bengals didn’t face Justin Herbert in this matchup because the Chargers had planned to let Tyrod Taylor be their starter until he struggled. Herbert ended up starting the next week and the rest is history. So, this will be the first time Burrow and Herbert will meet and it should be a fun game.

The Chargers are going to be a competitive team this year but they’re not even the best team in their division. They also have a tendency to blow games in the most bizarre ways but that might not be the case with a new head coach at the helm this year.

The Burrow/Herbert storyline is certainly fun, but there’s no debating that the Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers will be one of Cincinnati’s toughest, even if it is at home.
