Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow could torch the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021

A big reason why the Jacksonville Jaguars finished the 2020 season with just one win was because of their atrocious defense. The Jags defense was the second-worst defense in the league and allowed the sixth-most passing yards last year.

It was a rough season for Jacksonville, especially considering how just three years prior they had one of the most ferocious defenses in the league. It’s not 2017 anymore in Duval and that showed in 2020.

The Jaguars allowed 20 or more points in every regular-season game last year and allowed more than 30 points in nine games. It’s going to be hard to win games when your defense is surrendering 20 points in every single game.

Burrow is set up nicely against the Jaguars. It’s the Bengals’ only primetime game this season and that means Paul Brown Stadium will be rocking when the Jags come to town in Week 4. Speaking of Week 4, having the Jags on the schedule so early helps even more because they’ll still be trying to figure things out by that point in the season.

There’s a reason the NFL picked the Bengals/Jaguars matchup for primetime and it’s because they knew both defenses were bad. This will allow fans to have the Joe Burrow/Trevor Lawrence NFL showdown we’ve all dreamed of ever since that LSU/Clemson National Championship game a year and a half ago.
